10/25/2011 - At Tuesday’s swim meet against Cy Creek and Cy Falls, the LOBOS came away with thirteen first- and second-place finishes in the
individual and relay events of the evening. The LOBOS placed third at the meet overall. results
LOBOS practicing the motto “swim to win” by winning both of their individual events were Ashley Johnson (50 Free and 100 Free), Austin
VanOverdam (100 Fly and 100 Back), and John Eno (200 IM and 500 Free). Also winning an individual event was Aljay Tan in an exciting 50 Free
where the top three finishers were separated by hundredths of a second. In addition to her first-place finish in the 500 Free, Amanda Cantu
placed second in the 100 Fly. Also with second place finishes were Hannah Hickey (200 Free) and Ann Folker (100 Breast).
The LOBOS caused a lot of noise with two close relay finishes by the Boys. The 200 Medley Relay Team of Jack Sullivan, Austin VanOverdam, John
Eno, and Aljay Tan opened the evening with a second-place finish in a close race, just out-touching the third-place finisher, Cy Creek. Cy Falls beat
the LOBOS by 1.22 seconds. Later in the evening, the 200 Free Relay Team of Aljay Tan, Michael Devine, Austin VanOverdam, and John Eno won
first place, beating Cy Falls this time by a tenth of a second.
The Girls finished second place by comfortable margins in all three of their relays. Relay team members were Hannah Hickey (200 Medley and 200
Free), Ashley Johnson (200 Medley and 200 Free), Amanda Cantu (200 Medley and 400 Free), Renee Jordan (200 Medley and 200 Free), Maddie
Tiffin (200 Free and 400 Free), Ann Folker (400 Free), and Alexandria Herrera (400 Free).
Another noteworthy performance of the evening was by newcomer, Rey Laurencio. He is new to the sport, but he finished the 100 Free under a
minute with a personal best time of 58.64.
11/15/2011 - SIX LOBOS WILL COMPETE AT THE TISCA GULF COAST SWIMMING AND DIVING CHAMPIONSHIP. Qualifying to compete in the

Johnson, Aljay Tan, Maddie Tiffin, and Austin VanOverdam. The eight fastest swimmers from the preliminaries in each event will qualify for the
championship finals. The next eight fastest in each event will qualify for the consolation finals. All events will take place at the Conroe ISD
Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas. Prelims start at 8:45 AM on Friday, November 18. Finals are the next day, Saturday, beginning at 8:45 AM.
11/11/2011 - AT THE SWIMMING AND DIVING MEET THIS PAST FRIDAY NIGHT AGAINST CY WOODS, CY SPRINGS, AND JERSEY VILLAGE, THE LOBOS
FINISHED FIRST-PLACE IN TEN OF THE INDIVIDUAL AND RELAY EVENTS. It was in the individual swimming events that the LOBOS performed so
well, finishing first in significantly more of these events than any of the other teams at the meet. The LOBOS stacked up nine individual first-place
finishes as compared to four each by Cy Woods and Cy Springs, and only one by Jersey Village. For the second meet in a row, the following three
LOBOS won both of their individual events: John Eno (100 Free and 100 Back), Ashley Johnson (200 IM and 500 Free), and Austin VanOverdam
(50 Free and 100 Breast). The LOBOS swept the deck in the 50 Free and 100 Breast -- in addition to Austin’s wins for the Boys, Maddie Tiffin and
Ann Folker placed first for the Girls in the 50 Free and 100 Breast, respectively. Cheered on by her teammates, Ann swam a personal best time
that qualifies her to compete for the first time at the TISCA Gulf Coast Championships. In the Boys Individual 200 Free, the LOBOS took both first
and second places -- Mauricio Ravines won the race, and Aljay Tan beat out another swimmer from Cy Springs to grab second place. Also with a
second-place finish in an individual event were Maddie Tiffin (200 Free), Aljay Tan (200 Free), Amanda Cantu (100 Fly), and Jeff Applebach (500
Free). In the relay events, the LOBOS came away with one win for the evening, and it was by the Boys 200 Medley Relay Team comprised of Jack
Sullivan, Austin VanOverdam, John Eno, and Aljay Tan. The LOBO Boys 200 Free Relay Team (John Eno, Tyler Jones, Aljay Tan, and Austin
VanOverdam) finished second place, loosing a close race to Cy Woods. Overall, the LOBO Boys placed second at the meet, and the LOBO Girls,
third.
